Blog Spot

Posted by admin on May 27th, 2008 — Posted in Network of Blogs

I have finally come to the conclusion that blogs are the only way forward. I have held off for months into entering this regime due to the fact that finding interesting material to write about three or four times a week would be quite taxing, but I have just the entered the portal so at least I will be putting my brain to more use.

Blogging seems to have taken over the internet, all the old style business websites seem to have disappeared or have been resigned to the depth of the search engines leaving a myriad of websites all fighting to gain some recognition of their worth.

Two of the main searches on Google consisting of (work at home) and (make money online) have changed completely, it seems we no longer cater for needs of the searcher looking for a plain old business opportunity.

The searches now consist mainly of blogs or websites giving loads of advice on what to do and what not to do.

Everyone has taken literally the advice of many and filled their websites with text which on many is not particularly interesting but seems to please Google.
It seems that keywords are the dominating factor and it doesn’t matter what rubbish you fill your website with as long as you have loads of keywords to please the search engines.

You could have the best business idea in the world but if you havn’t watered it down with keywords that are unnecessary in reality then it is doomed to failure.

Doing a search on (make money online) I found the no1 spot was occupied by a website that said Offline for maintenance it has been in this position for over a week and consists of three blocks of adsense ads, if this is all we need to do to get top spot how much easier life would be.

Going back to blogs as a newcomer to the scene I still have to determine whether my blog should consist of business tips or advice on websites or just simple every day nonsense. What do people want to read ?

You can get every sort of advice and help on the web about anything and every thing so it seems strange that people keep repeating the well meant advice and of course people keep reading it.
If its nonsense they want then even that can be found on the web.

Oh well I will simply write about what comes into my head at the time of writing and hope that someone somewhere will think! well that’s a novel idea, or this is a load of rubbish, as long as it provokes some sort of interest good or bad then it was worth writing.

I don’t profess to be an expert on anything to do with the internet I have just learnt by my mistakes and experience, but here is one piece of advice for all of you who want to make money from an affiliate program or your own creation and that is: do not depend on your website to spread the word unless it is near the top of the searches. You have to spend money to make money so advertise it for all your worth, if you don’t have the money to spare then visit every free ad site you can find and advertise there.

It may not be so effective as paid advertising but it can work, if you would like a list of hundreds of free ad sites on the internet then a visit to my website will give you what you are looking for it is number 1 on the list below and of course the list is free.

Flax Oil Loses to Fish Oil and Borage Oil for Dieters

Posted by admin on May 27th, 2008 — Posted in School of Nutrition

According to at least one popular diet web site, millions of dieters around the world may be using the wrong oil on their salads, or taking the wrong omega-3 dietary supplement pill.

For years, millions of people have been pouring flax seed oil over their salads, adding it to recipes and menus, and taking big capsules of it on a daily basis. The idea was to get something called EPA, DHA, and GLA from the essential omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids it contains. The problem is that to get GLA, EPA and DHA from flax oil, you need a special digestive enzyme. And, guess what? The news from Level1Diet.com is that only young, healthy people make enough of the enzyme to do the conversion from flax oil into these special nutrients that people are looking for.

What are all these initials and why do people want them? EPA, DHA and GLA are called “essential fatty acids” because your body can’t make them by itself. You must eat foods (or take supplements) from outside sources containing either Lenoleic Acid (LA) or Alpha Lenolenic Acid (LNA). Flax seed oil contains both of these.

  • GLA: Gamma Linolenic Acid
  • EPA: Eicosapentaenoic Acid
  • DHA: Docosahexaenoic Acid

And, if you can properly digest these essential fats, then you get two wonderful health boosters for your body called EG1 and EG3 (prostaglandin series-1 and series-3). These are terrific aids in fighting inflammation. And, when you reduce inflammation, you help your body prevent major diseases like heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes and many more.

What if you can’t digest the flax seed oil? Well, you will end up making too much of something called EG2 (prostaglandin series-2). As you might guess, this actually INCREASES your levels of inflammation, and therefore increases your risk for all the major diseases associated with inflammation — and that’s a big list of diseases, as scientists are reporting these days. The Level1Diet.com site lists dozens of these associated diseases, adding up to possibly 73% of all the deaths each year in the U.S.

So, for years people have been buying flax oil to get these vital nutrients. And all this time they may have actually been making matters worse. Or, at least many people have not been improving their health, despite their efforts.

Here is the break down — The issue is that the Linoleic Acid flax seed oil contains has to be converted into Gamma Linolenic Acid using Delta-6 Desaturase D6D enzyme. And D6D is made inoperative by high levels of insulin (duh), alcohol, pollutants, and high levels of Omega-6 Fatty acids from vegetable oils and fried foods, trans-fatty acids, etc. Also, D6D becomes less available anyway as we age, and there is evidently a genetic mutation that makes people into diabetics (by family groups of course) that is basically simply a mutation that makes people not as capable of making D6D as “normal” people. It is felt that this mutation is probably the true cause of the familial component in the genesis of type-2 diabetes, and naturally likely of most inflammatory disease and metabolic syndrome.

A simple digestive enzyme deficiency, which is possibly inherited among up to 40-50% of people or sometimes even more in some regions (apparently about 90% of the Pima Indians in Arizona, for example). Estimates vary, but the inability to use D6D is very common. So, a simple digestive enzyme can be a major cause involved in many of our worst diseases. Who’d have thought it?

OMEGA-3 Alpha-Linolenic Acid LNA (part of flax oil) + D6D -> … -> Eicosapentaenoic Acid EPA -> Series-3 Prostaglandins [inflammation fighters]

OMEGA-6 Linoleic Acid LA (in many vegetable oils, incl. flax oil) + D6D -> … -> Gamma Lenolenic Acid GLA -> … -> Dihomogamma Linolenic Acid DGLA -> Series-1 Prostaglandins [inflammation fighters]

NOTE that D6D is required to generate both of these this way, from vegetable oils, and it is often not available for diabetes and many pre-diabetics or metabolic syndrome, insulin resistant folks.

Incidentally, if you eat the wrong stuff and D6D stops working, then you get Arachidonic Acid (AA), which leads to making Series-2 Prostaglandins… those are the bad guys involved in most inflammatory disease states.

Everybody affected by most of the major types of disease in the U.S. usually wants to boost Series-1 and 3 Prostaglandins, and lessen Series-2. We’re manipulating our diet to get that to happen. That’s most of our strategy. There’s more, i.e. burning more with exercise, eating less etc.

SOLUTION?

The idea is to make an end run around the missing or not-working D6D issue. Fish oils give you EPA and DHA with needing to be converted by D6D. Borage oil gives you GLA with using D6D. So the answer is simply to add them into your diet.

  1. Take Borage Oil (GLA), which gives you GLA without needing D6D (best source). Recommended daily dose is about 300mg of GLA from one 1,200mg oil capsule for most normal sized people - up to twice that for very large people.
  2. Take Fish Oil, which gives you EPA without needing D6D (best source). Recommended dose is about 2.4 grams a day of the total EPA and DHA in the oil you are using. That usually means about 3-4 pharmaceutical grade capsules, or up to 10 normal standard health store grade capsules.

Both these oils together will get you more of the anti-inflammatory prostaglandin series-1 and series-3 molecules. And you don’t get as much of the pro-inflammatory series-2 prostaglandins that would come from not being able to convert flax seed’s omega-6 fatty acids into DGLA and therefore ending up with too much arachidonic acid — whenever you’re insulin resistant, inflamed or for some other reason unable to produce or use enough delta-6 desaturase D6D enzyme.

The Food Guide Football features fats at one small end of the football, sugars at the other end, vegetable proteins like beans, peas and nuts in one vertical stripe around one end, and animal proteins like fish, chicken, turkey and lean beef, as the other stripe around the other end, with the large middle of the football representing fruits and vegetables. The Food Guide Football represents a low fat, low simple carbohydrate, moderate protein and high complex carbohydrate diet formula. Specific foods and supplements are recommended to achieve and maintain a low inflammatory state of health.

If all of that complex chemistry stuff is confusing, just take Level1Diet.com’s word for it. A capsule or two of flax seed oil probably won’t hurt you, and it may help you. However fish oil and borage oil should ABSOLUTELY HELP YOU. Take them instead.

Hang Up Your Hair for Static Control

Posted by admin on May 27th, 2008 — Posted in Skin Care

Did you know that there are differences in the way you care for your hair depending upon the season we are in? Have you ever noticed that your hair starts to behave differently when the cold weather hits? Hair tends to dry out and is hard to manage especially during the winter months, but there are a few things you can do to protect it. Try to not wash your hair too often during the winter months, and using a dry-hair shampoo will be good for it. Static electricity is also a problem during the winter, so run a metal hanger over to stop it in its tracks. If you are dealing with thinning hair or applying some other type of hair loss remedy, it may be difficult to not shampoo too often.

Here is a recipe for a good conditioner that you can use in the winter to replace store-bought conditioners. Take one-half cup of pure maple syrup, a hotel shower cap and a towel wrap for 30 minutes. If you have to buy a conditioner, trying purchasing your shampoos and conditioners from a salon as they carry a much better quality product. Sometimes, preventing hair loss in the winter is more difficult as it seems to occur more during the winter months.

When your hair gets very dry, you can use a hair treatment or a hair reconstructor to add volume to your hair. It is a good idea to use conditioning heat-activated hair spray and to leave conditioners on as long as possible. A deep-moisturizing conditioner should be used weekly, and remember to not go outside with wet hair as this may freeze your hair and cause breaking. Remember to always wear a hat, and especially in wintertime. Hair regrowth is sometimes difficult in the winter months, but is easier in the warmer summer months.

Love Me, Kiss My Gun

Posted by admin on May 26th, 2008 — Posted in Politics

He steps from his polished limousine, secret service agents fanning out around him.

Deadeye Dick Cheney.

He holds in his hand a gleaming black beauty, a pump action, $12,000 dollar shotgun with a hand engraved stock showing a scene of pheasants in flight.

Love me. Kiss my gun.

This isn’t just any man’s hobby, like painting a painting. This is life or death. Nearby, a little dust covered quail cowers under a bush, trying to live out the remainder of its miserable short life.

Cheney isn’t going to eat the quail. He doesn’t depend on the quail for food. He doesn’t like quail and besides, who wants to crunch down on a shot pellet and possibly ruin their expensive, government paid-for dental bridge work.

Cheney is a self-proclaimed patriot. Because I’m writing this, I’m a traitor.

Love me. Kiss my gun.

Dick is keeping alive the spirit of the pioneers. Unlike Dick, the pioneers had to hunt to survive. The westward migrants were Argonauts, they were pathfinders, they were trailblazers….they were MORONS!

Love me. Kiss my gun.

Dick Cheney, the man who helped turn the US into the world’s most powerful terrorist state (next to China). The world’s leading weapons supplier, running a gulag of torture camps (even Herman Goering at Nuremberg had access to a lawyer).

Illegal spying on Americans. Cheney said Lincoln did it too, so did Washington, even Caesar (listened in on his troops by hooking strands of dried spaghetti to a tin can).

It’s legal. It’s moral.

Love me. Kiss my gun.

A gun is power….like a penile erection. The erections are fewer these days. But not the gun.

The power of life and death. When you kill something, for pleasure, not for food, necessity, survival. The thrill of the hunt, on an expensive junket ex-lawyer dude ranch. Sip cocktails. Joke with cronies.

Share the experience of a good clean kill.

Love me. Kiss my gun.

It’s a good thing Dick doesn’t have to throw a spear or run after the bird.

It’s a good thing the little speckled budgie sits still like posing for a portrait.

A man is a man is a man who deals death….to things.

Wait a minute! The bird tries to save itself and flies. Dick has to react quickly…and shoots his partner…..also a gray-haired, lawyer patriot.

For the first time, Dick feels horror.

We did an air strike on a rural village in which two suspected terrorists were killed…and also five children. Dick didn’t feel horror for the children. They deserved it. Those children were just nameless, faceless faces.

Dick! You once had five draft deferments. You were too busy to serve in the military while amassing a fortune. You always let some other guy do the fighting while you sat warm and comfy. This is your first up-close experience seeing for yourself what happens to somebody who’s on the wrong end of a barrel. Your barrel.

Dick! Dick! It’s almost like you’re in combat.

Friendly fire.

Love me. Kiss my gun.

Dick will try to hide what happened, like he does everything else. Until forced to come forward by criticism.

Until the next hunt, he’ll mount his gun on a wall in an honored place next to a religious icon, a crucifix.

Love me. Kiss my gun.

Customer No Service - How to Lose a Loyal Customer!

Posted by admin on May 26th, 2008 — Posted in Commerce World

So today was the day where I almost stopped going to my favorite supermarket here in Milwaukee. If you’re in Milwaukee, you know the one I’m talking about: the cool one downtown that has 1000 different types of produce, and a whole aisle dedicated to gourmet coffee and teas. The one with the free samples, the wine tasting and cooking courses. Yeah, that one.

Anyway, today I went to the market to buy a few things for dinner. I knew it was going to go wrong because my usual entrance to the parking lot was gated off by shopping carts lying on the ground to block my path. OK, I’m flexible, I’ll drive around.

The second thing was when they were out of my favorite glass bottles of skim milk. It’s the best way to drink milk, in my humble opinion. They had every flavor except for mine.

Next, I tried to check out by “paying by touch.” Let me tell you, this can be the best system in the world, you just sign up with your driver’s license number, your credit card number, your preferred customer number, and your phone number, and away you go. Notice I said CAN be the best. Many times, my preferred card number doesn’t work in the system, and it doesn’t take the savings off of the bill, and tonight was one of those nights.

Now this would have been okay, had the checker just used the house card and given me the lower price so my debit card would be billed the correct amount, however she did not know how to do this. Instead, she said to go over to the service counter and someone over there would help me out.

Skeptical, I walked over to the service desk to see 3 clerks talking to each other and cutting out something that was much more urgent than me and the 4 other people in line. For some reason, after a few minutes, one girl asked to help me. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I told her my dilemma, and she proceeded to go through my bags, re-scanning things and writing down what she thought was the correct cents off. I’m no cheapskate, but five dollars is 2 gallons of gas! Of course, she was doing all of this in her head, and didn’t let me see the slip, and of course didn’t do it correct, ripping me off to the tune of about 20 cents, plus I had to re-pack my own groceries.

To add insult to injury, there was no ramp open to go down to the parking structure I was forced to use, so I had to grab my bags and carry them, with my wife, down 3 flights of 10 stairs.

This is maddening to me! It’s so easy to do things right. Here’s how I would provide customer service.

  • Plainly mark the entrances that are closed, and advertise it on your stores website, thus alleviating some of your customers’ frustrations, and provide the alternative entrances.

  • If you’re out of something, put a sign up that lets me know when it’s going to be back so I can return and buy it then, and apologize that you’re out. A little sign is all I ask, not a big production.

  • Make the error in favor of your customers, and scan the house savings card whenever in doubt. And give your checkers the ability to fix this, instead of sending us over to the service desk.

  • Offer something extra to customers when your computer systems don’t work as planned. It doesn’t have to be a lot, but give me a coupon for a free loaf of bread, a free deli sandwich, or something nice. It’s not my fault your preferred system doesn’t work.

  • Use loyalty cards for EXTRA things, not to get the every day lowest price. Why am I going to scan my preferred customer card if I know I don’t have anything that’s on sale? I’m not, that’s why.

That’s all I’ve got. See, it wasn’t so hard, was it? Making customer service great is a lot easier than you though. And oh yeah, you won’t lose me as a customer if you at least try. Thanks!

  • Select Your Style of Modern Railing Designs

Posted by admin on May 25th, 2008 — Posted in Home Improvement

When you have made your house, you had long discussions with
your family members, consultants, architects, and the builder.
The discussions continued over breakfasts, lunches and dinners,
during the weekends, on your shopping trips and holidays too.
You are not going to spoil the result of this by having a bad
    job of deck
railing. Therefore select your railing systems as you would
have selected everything in your house, with care and love.

Select Modern Railings To Suit Modern Lifestyle

The items you should consider when selecting your railing
systems can be summarized as follows.

Your lifestyle: A large porch, a larger sit out, verdant lawns,
large spending power, a two or three car garage, and a big
house, certainly means that you will not be having the painted
wooden posts and wooden railing at least for deck area. (may be
it is acceptable for the compound fencing) Such railing would
    look incongruent with your lifestyle.

The porch and the entrance area of your house has been decorated
carefully and tastefully. You are not going to spoil the area by
cheap looking PVC railings. The PVC railings also look beautiful
when they are made properly. UV rays can mar the look for PVC
railings over a period. Use a CPVC material for porch railing if
you wish to have PVC railings at all.

Wooden railings look give the solid look of your lifestyle.
Decorative and useful, wooden railings will suit your house, you
have tastefully decorated. The feeling of grandeur of your house
will be spoilt by having an aluminum railing. The bigger halls of your house will
and the grandeur that you have created in it will be accentuated
well with wooden railings. Stainless is the next choice, here you
    cannot use PVC railings.

If your house has a period look, you can use wrought iron
railings and the fittings associated with it.

The above are just examples. They indicate the thinking that
should go when you decide the railing systems.

    Goal Setting for Weight Loss

Posted by admin on May 25th, 2008 — Posted in Medical Stuff

“The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.” - Michelangelo

The most important thing you need to do before starting any weight loss program is to sit down and write out specific goals you want to accomplish. A goal is the purpose toward which an endeavour is directed; an objective. It is not enough to say to yourself that you want to lose weight. You need to write it out and be as specific as you can. Without a clear goal, you run the risk of failure in your weight loss efforts. Having a well-written goal it can help to keep you focused and motivated to achieve your target.

    Setting Specific Goals

You need to be specific. It is not enough to say “I want to lose weight” it is too general a statement. You need to narrow it down. You also want to set a healthy goal, so consult a BMI chart to find your healthy weight range to ensure your goal weight is healthy for your height.

    * Exactly how many kgs do you want to lose?

    * How much do you want to weigh?

    * What clothing size do you want to be?

By setting a specific goal to “lose 50kgs of fat to be a fit, sleek and healthy 65kg”, you are able to focus your efforts towards something more specific than to just “lose weight”. Once you have set your specific goal, it is best to establish a reason why you want to achieve it. A purpose behind the goal you have set yourself.

By determining a reason why you want to achieve this goal, you are adding emotion to it. You need to establish why reaching this goal is important to you. The more emotion behind it, the more motivated you will become in achieving the goal. Reasons behind your goal can be varied:

    * Looking great in a bikini at the beach

    * Getting into shape for a special event or vacation

    * Being healthy and setting an example for your children

Don’t be afraid to set yourself big goals. Don’t listen to family and friends who tell you to ‘be unrealistic’. Nothing great has ever been achieved by being realistic. Set your goals as something you really want, not what you think you get.

That said, you will need to do some research into your goal. By consulting things such as a BMI chart, you can give yourself a healthy goal to achieve. If your healthy weight range is between 54-68kgs, it is not all right to set yourself a goal weight of 50kgs. Not only will you start to look anorexic but you could also do more damage to yourself than good. Setting your goal weight at 60kgs, however, is a perfectly fine goal.

You may find that some family and friends may feel that your 60kg goal is ‘unrealistic’, especially if you have a lot of weight to lose. They may even try to tell you that you will look anorexic and sick in an attempt to sabotage you. However, if you have done your research properly, and follow the guidelines from the healthy weight range you will be fine. Your goal may be far off in the distance, but if that is what you really want to strive towards, than don’t let anyone stand in your way.

    Setting Measurable Goals

Once you have set your specific goal, you need to find a way to measure your progress or you will not know when you have reached your goals. Feel free to use one or a combination of the following methods of tracking your progress:

    # A great way to help you see any changes is to take ‘Before and After’ photographs. It is best, when using this, to take pictures of your progress, generally every four to six weeks is best to see results. Try not to cover your body in a lot of clothing as they may obstruct your results. Take the plunge and wear a bikini or other bathing suit so you are able to really see yourself.

It is also a good idea to try to wear similar clothing for each photo you take. If you wore bike pants and a sports top, try to stick to wearing that for your next progress picture. If you are feeling more confident you may like to change to a bikini, however it is not recommended to go from a bikini to a sports top and bike pants. Adding clothing for these pictures may obstruct the visible changes your body has undergone.

    # The scale is a great way to help measure your loss. However, you need to remember that you need to focus on how much body fat you have lost, not just the overall number on the scale. You need to remember that sometimes you may ‘gain’ weight as you may have gained some muscle while losing fat.

    # Another great way to measure your success is to use a tape measure and keep track of your losses. Hips, waist, bust, thigh, calf, arm and neck measurements are the most commonly used measurements to track weight loss progress. You may even like to use an article of clothing to help track your progress.

    # If your goal is to lose fat, not just weight, than you will need to measure your Body Fat Percentage on a regular basis. To do this you will need to do a skinfold test or find an online Body Fat Calculator . By checking your Body Fat Percentage, you will be able to monitor your weight loss progress, be able to see that you are losing excess fat and not muscle tissue.

    Setting Realistic Deadlines

When setting deadlines for your weight loss goals, you need to remember that you did not put the weight on overnight. You cannot expect to lose weight quickly and maintain it. Just look at the fad diets you may have followed in the past. Fad diets, such as the Cabbage Soup diet, do allow people to lose weight quickly but as the ‘new lifestyle’ is not something you can maintain for a long period of time, once you stop the weight piles back on. Generally, when you follow a restrictive diet like this, you lose not only fat but also muscle weight. When the weight comes back it returns as fat, making you look fatter than when you started.

You need to aim for a weight loss between 0.5-1kg each week (which translates to about a half a percent of body fat). It may seem like a slow process, but it is the safest way to lose the weight and, more importantly, keep it off. By taking the weight off slowly, you give your body the chance to adapt to new eating and exercising habits that you can maintain for the rest of your life. By losing the weight slowly, you are more likely to be losing excess fat, and not muscle making your body look more lean and athletic.

    Setting Long-Term and Short-Term Goals

So… you have set your goal to lose 50kgs. When you look at the amount you need to lose, it can feel very intimidating. By breaking you goal into long-term and short-term goals, it can make your goals seem more attainable. There are several short and long term goals you can use:

    * Your ultimate long-term goal

    * Three month goals

    * Weekly goals

    * Daily goals

    * Beating your personal best

Long-Term Goal: This is your Ultimate Goal. What do you ultimately what to achieve? Don’t listen to anyone who says you cannot do it. If you have the desire and willingness to work for it, then you can achieve it.

Three Month Goal: This is an important goal if you have a lot of work to do or would like to challenge yourself and change your body. It is the perfect time frame for a short-term goal because you can achieve a lot in this period. Most people can transform their bodies in 90 days.

A sensible three month goal would be to lose 5-10kgs and up to 6% body fat. Your ultimate goal may be some way off and you may not be able to stay focused on the long-term. A three month goal can feel more manageable and achievable, it can help keep you focused on achieving your ultimate goal.

Weekly Goals: A weekly goal can help you to stay on track and provide feedback on how you are going. If you achieving the results you want, you can continue doing what your have been. If your results aren’t what you expected, you can adjust what you have been doing and get back on track.

Daily Goals: To reach your ultimate goal or even your three month goal you need to start developing new, health habits and work on them repeatedly until the come naturally. Write out a list of ‘to-do’ list of the habits you want to develop. Good daily habits can help you achieve goals such as:

    * eating smaller portions

    * cutting down sugar intake

    * getting up early

It is not an overnight process. Like losing the excess weight, it will take time to form the healthy habits needed to achieve your goals. By making small changes and repeating them every day you can make them stick and use them to help achieve your ultimate goal.

Beating Your Personal Best: Don’t try to compare yourself with other people, even if you are working with someone to help keep each other motivated. You need to strive to constantly challenge yourself. After your initial three month goal, you can try to improve your previous results. Mix up your workouts, add a second or third weight training session. Do not just focus on improving the number on the scale, try improving and getting the most out of your workouts or adding more fresh fruit an vegetables to your diet.

Once you have written out your goals, take the time to write them out in the form of affirmations.

    # Make it personal - use the work ‘I’, ‘I am’ or ‘I have’. Personal words like ‘I am” have power. By using words like these in a personal manner, you are able to reach your sub-conscious which can help give you an extra push to reach your goals.

    # Write in present tense. To your sub-conscious mind ‘tomorrow’ never comes, it responds to commands given to it in present tense. Write, think and visualize your goal as if you have already achieved it.

    # Write your goals in positive terms. Write what you want to achieve, not what you want or need to avoid.

Once you are happy with how your goals are written, post them up in various places so you will be able to see and read them often. By re-reading your goals on a regular basis, you help keep yourself focused and motivated to achieve your goals.

When you start achieving some of your goals, reward yourself for the hard work you have completed. Avoid rewarding yourself with food. Food is not a reward; it is to fuel your body. Rewards for achieving a goal can be something simple like a facial or a new article of clothing. If you want to give yourself larger rewards for reaching bigger goals, such as reaching the half way mark, then do so. Whatever motivates you to achieve a specific goal, perhaps go away for a weekend or visit a day spa.

For a long time now, MP3 players have been one of the hottest selling portable music players on the market. They have changed the way we make, listen to and store music. These players use the mp3 file format (mpeg 1 layer 111).

MP4 has been heralded by some as the next big thing. This is because of the versatility and quality of the MP4 file. MP4 stands for MPEG 4. This format can be used for video and audio and it produces a very high quality sound and picture. It can be used with many wireless devices.

MP4 players play video using this file format. Many can record from a tv or dvd player or even from the internet and then play back the video or movie at the users convenience. Some can store pictures as well. A good mp4 player will come with a decent amount of memory to store the sometimes large mp4 files. They are priced around $200-300.

Though they are gaining popularity, it remains to be seen if they will one day be as well known as the super famous mp3 player.

Search Engine Optimization - The Basics Of Boosting Website Traffic

Posted by admin on May 23rd, 2008 — Posted in Marketing Management

Search engine optimization is vital if you want to get your
website listed at the top of the search engine rankings. You
will have to design and write your pages not only for the
customer, but also for the search engine spiders and crawlers.
It does not have to be hard and it does not have to make you
pull your hair out in frustration. By following a few tips on
how to go about writing your pages, you will find success with
    your website.

One of the first mistakes that most people make when designing a
website is that they think about the entire website. Do not
concentrate on the entire site. Instead, create your landing
page with only that page in mind. The rest of the design will
come later. Next, narrow down your list of keywords to keyword
phrases. Make sure they are highly targeted keyword phrases. For
example, if you sell motor oil your keyword phrase would be
motor oil and not just oil. Remember that people, when searching
for your website in the search engines, will search for general
phrases, and not just keywords. A good place to get keyword
phrase ideas is HREF=http://www.overture.com rel="nofollow">http://www.overture.com. There
are many there, so be sure to check it out.

After you have chosen your phrase to use, put it into a search
engine and see what comes up. This is an honest way to check out
your competition and to get a real look at how your keywords
work. You might find that your keywords are highly popular, and
you will need to rework your phrases. Targeting a keyword that
is not highly sought after could lead you to keyword phrases in
niche markets. Fortunes have been built of niche markets in the
    Internet community.

Next you’ll want to look at your meta tags. The tags are html
code that lists the different words in relation to your product
on the web page. Search engines look mainly for descriptive tags
that tell the engine and visitor what the website is about. If
there is no tag, it will use other ways to search for
information, like in a cached page of the directories. When
setting up your keyword phrase, include it twice, and make it a
clickable title tag too. You’ll need to describe your
information for your page with the keywords. Be creative in the
description. Search engines like versatility up to a point. One
important aspect that you will need to use is not only your Meta
keyword phrases, but a few sub keywords that are relevant to
your site. Do not overuse keyword phrases because will hurt you
with certain engines - your site will actually be penalized, and
drop in the search engine rankings. Make sure you use a header
tag. Certain search engines use these tags heavily for rating
the value of your site. When writing your page, use your main
keyword phrase or phrases right off the bat. A good inclusion
would be twice in the first paragraph. Any other types of
information about your site should include your keyword-targeted
    phrase as well.

Do not think that that is all you will have to do though. You
will have to get others to notice your web site. Continue using
your keyword phrase or phrases in any text on the page. For
instance, if you have a blog set up on your site; use the
keyword phrase in your Meta tag about the web blog. You may have
to submit your web page to the search engines. Sometimes the
engines don’t pick up a site with the spiders and crawlers. In
fact, you might have to redesign your site with new Meta tags,
and targeted keyword phrases and sub keywords. Don’t rush to do
it though. First, find out if the search engines pick up your
page. Usually only 2 - 3 weeks will suffice to see if it’s
happened. If not re-do your site words so you can climb to at
least the first two pages of any search engine.

The key is to remain patient and to follow the ever changing
rules of SEO search engine optimization. It will take time and
developing your confidence about your skills. In the end, you
will be glad that you have learned the valuable technique, and
you will go on to build improved sites that are finely tuned.

    Research.

Cheat sheets: Have one of these handy when drafting, so you know the top players at each position. Make sure it is up-to-date so you don’t draft a player who is injured for the season.

Strategic articles: Doing a little reading might be the key to your next victory. If you learn about a sleeper, picking him up in your league can be the move of the year.

Weekly picks: Know what teams have tough matchups, and who you should start or sit based on those matchups. Don’t get stuck starting players who are in for a bad week.

Forum: Conversing with other fantasy football enthusiasts can give you some hints and tips that other members of your league aren’t hearing. Use everything you read to your advantage.

It’s that simple. Knowing a little bit more than your opponent is usually all you need. As they say, “Keep it simple, stupid.”
