Clay and Dust

Posted by admin on June 13th, 2008 — Posted in Miscellany

“For he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust” (Psalm 103:14); “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us” (2 Corinthians 4:7).

We are dust, not a very durable material. Job in his agony lamented to God, “Remember that you molded me like clay. Will you now turn me to dust again?” (Job 10:9). We are frail but God does not condemn us. On such days, it might help us to remember that “… [our] strength will equal [our] days” (Deuteronomy 33:25b).

There is another instruction in these verses and that is to grant to others the generous allowance that God grants to us, and to have as much patience with the frailties of others as we have of our own limitations. We are all dust and prejudices and heredities that God knows and evaluates in both the present and final accounting. How can we judge another when we must ask God daily for mercy for our own failures?

But we are also “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). Who but the Creator could house within dust and clay such delicate organs as the brain and ears and eyes, or envision the uses of hands and feet, arms and legs? The study of the cell alone convinces us of the amazing act of Creator and creation. Yes, we are wonderfully created!

It is the spiritual operation of the mind that separates us from the animals and makes us God’s treasures. The mind is either helped or hindered by the condition of the housing, and it is with the body that we honor God: “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit…? You are not your own; you were bought with a price. Therefore honor God with your body” (1 Corinthians 6:19,20). From this, then, we must conclude that we are morally obligated to take care of our dust and clay. Within this dust and clay there is a Spirit!

New Hope for Attaining–and Maintaining–A Healthy Body Weight

Posted by admin on June 13th, 2008 — Posted in Medical Stuff

The percentage of Americans who are overweight and obese is increasing very rapidly. “Overweight” is defined as having a Body Mass Index (BMI) from 25.0 to 29.9 whereas a BMI of 30 or above is defined as “obese.” According to the National Center for Health Statistics, 56% of the population was overweight during the reporting period from 1988 through 1994, and 23% was obese. During the period from 1999 through 2002, these percentages had increased to 65% and 30%, respectively.

So obesity has clearly reached epidemic proportions in the U.S., and the healthcare costs associated with it now rival those attributable to smoking. These costs were estimated to be $92.6 billion in 2002–9.1% of all health care costs–and they continue to escalate rapidly. Comparable costs associated with smoking were estimated to be between 6.5% and 14.4% in 2002. The Centers for Disease Control have announced that obesity could become the nation’s leading cause of preventable deaths by 2005. According to a recent estimate, obesity accounts for approximately 280,000 deaths each year in the U.S.

This epidemic is not confined to adults but tragically is afflicting children as well. Childhood obesity increased from 5 percent in 1964 to 13 percent in 1994. Today, it is estimated to be about 20 percent–and rising.

Diseases for which obesity is a significant risk factor include: Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, stroke, heart attack, congestive heart failure, cancer, gallstones, gout, osteoarthritis, and sleep apnea, fatty liver disease, pulmonary problems, reproductive problems in women, and depression.

In this era of skyrocketing healthcare costs, it’s urgently clear, then, that more effective methods are needed for preventing and reversing this very major contributor to our escalating healthcare crisis.

The above data are especially astounding in the face of the fact that Americans are spending in excess of $50 billion annually on diet products. In view of the ongoing epidemic summarized above, this investment has obviously been highly unsuccessful. As has been pointed out in one study, for example, the price per pound lost in one well-known weight loss program amounts to $180!

Not only is there overwhelming evidence that diets don’t work in the long run, but of even more concern is the strong evidence that they can actually contribute to further weight gain and decline in health. There is recent evidence, for example, that yo-yo dieting weakens the immune system by as much as 30%.

A search of the research literature on weight loss strongly supports the general conclusion that key lifestyle and dietary changes are absolutely necessary to long-term success. Here is a fairly comprehensive listing of these essential changes:

1. Eat a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits.

2. Boost protein intake to build and preserve lean muscle tissue.

3. Use fiber-rich foods, which are more filling and promote health.

4. Boost calcium and other minerals to help shed unwanted fat.

5. Increase intake of omega-3 unsaturated fatty acids by eating fish, flax, and nuts.

6. Eat only minimal amounts of “junk” carbs, containing sugar and white flour.

7. Greatly reduce–or eliminate–saturated and trans fats that are loaded with harmful fatty acids.

8. Reduce or eliminate alcohol.

9. Reduce the amount of food eaten gradually to avoid the adverse effects of sudden dieting.

10. Eat frequent, small snacks, instead of large meals, to maximize calories burned for energy.

11. Be sure to eat a healthy breakfast to avoid difficulty in controlling appetite later in the day.

12. Be sure to exercise for a half-hour, at least 3 times a week.

13. Gradually boost exercise frequency and intensity for even greater effects.

14. Practice stress reduction to reduce the over-production of cortisol, which promotes weight gain.

15. Expose yourself to the sun for at least 15 minutes each day and get adequate sleep.

16. Incorporate all of these changes into your lifestyle and maintain them persistently.

Some people, however, in spite of making these changes and maintaining them rigorously still experience limited success in losing excess weight and keeping it off.

Lucy Beale, a nationally-known author and weight loss consultant for nearly twenty years, addressed this issue in her recent newsletter:

“For years, I’ve watched some of my clients do seemingly everything ‘right’ to lose weight–eating 0-5, eating low-glycemic foods, exercise–and yet they don’t lose pounds or inches. This situation is frustrating for me and certainly for them. I’ve been ‘wishing and hoping’ to find a fat-loss product that I could whole-heartedly recommend.

“When I couldn’t find any viable products to recommend, I spoke with several alternative health practitioners about developing a natural weight-loss product that was: A) safe; B) effective; C) non-addictive; D) worked for most people; and E) provided long-term health benefits. But nothing ever came of our efforts. . .

“Then, in September 2004, a friend told me about the Nexagen Fat-Loss Patch. I’ve done my homework on the patch and my research indicates the patch is safe, effective, and health promoting. I was so excited that I asked some of my clients to try it out. They loved it. They were eating less, found it easier to eat 0-5, had fewer cravings, felt better emotionally, and even wanted to exercise. They lost inches and weight. Many were able to reduce the dosage of medications they were taking for such health conditions as asthma, allergies, high blood pressure, diabetes, and thyroid disorders. People who wear the patch for at least 3-6 months are experiencing satisfying results. . .”

The Fat Loss Patch that Lucy is referring to here is a unique new approach to assisting weight loss and maintenance. Unlike the vast majority of previous diet products containing ephedra, synephrine, or other harmful stimulants, this patent-pending transdermal patch employs Forslean, a patented derivative from an Asian herb, Coleus forskohlii, which has been used for centuries to treat cardiovascular disorders and other health problems. Recent research has now shown that it is also effective in burning fat, while preserving lean muscle, and in curbing food cravings. It also has the added health benefits of supporting thyroid functioning and and helping to reduce blood pressure.

Its mechanism of action in promoting fat burning in the body is also unlike that of all previous thermogenic, or fat-burning, products. The main active ingredient in Forslean activates a very important enzyme, Adenylate cyclase which is involved in the production of Cyclic Adenosine Monophosphate (cAMP). This “second messenger,” as it is called in the research literature, is indispensable to many important body functions. One of these is to help maintain a healthy body composition by burning fat while preserving lean body mass.

Combined with the dietary and lifestyle changes summarized above, the Fat Loss Patch is finally making it possible for nearly anyone to attain–and maintain–a healthy body weight.

Checking out your Check Book: When a first home purchase isn’t quite within your grasp

Posted by admin on June 12th, 2008 — Posted in World Of Finance

Checking out that balance in the checking account again? Barely got enough to save after paying bills, buying groceries and putting gas in the car? Understandable. But, you ask, “How am I ever going to afford a house of my own?”

That is the ultimate question for many potential home owners. They live in a vicious cycle of trying to save money for a down payment while being vigilant in paying bills on time to keep a good credit rating, only to find their dream home is never quite within their reach.

Mortgage Revenue Bonds

Have you not heard about MRB - Mortgage Revenue Bonds? It’s the ONLY federal government program that is available low-income, first-time home buyers.

Oh, I can hear you now: “But I’m not really low income.” Well, surprisingly, you really don’t need to be dead broke to reap the benefits of this program.

I see your ears perking up. “Tell me more,” you say. To qualify for this aid, you can earn as much as 115% of the median family income for your area (that figure is based on the fact that your family includes you and two dependents). You can call your state Housing Finance Agency to discover the median family income for your area. The second criterion is that the house you purchase is your principal residence (a second vacation home obviously doesn’t qualify) and whose cost does not exceed 90% of the average cost of a home in your area.

Hey, wait before you run around checking this program, check out www.a-real-estate-guide.com where you’ll find an abundance of information for home buyers (home sellers and anyone interested in investing in real estate). This free, informative resource is dedicated to providing you the tools to educate yourself in both buying and selling your home.

Www.a-real-estate-guide.com receives current news articles daily on a variety of topics of interest to home buyers. It also contains a variety of mortgage calculators, so you can decide if you can afford that house payment and the accompanying extra expenses of home ownership.

The Downfall of Podcasting

Posted by admin on June 12th, 2008 — Posted in Online Podcasting Resources

I remember when I first learned about Podcasting. It was via blog entries in Chris Pirillo’s blog and Leo Laporte’s blog. Both class act internet enthusiasts and both had a hand in making podcasting what it is today. However podcasting has become more of a business venture than the fun audio sharing that it was when it started out.

There are a handful of people that have alienated the idea of podcasting. The idea that anyone can share audio not just the big time internet junkies. Take, for example, Kevin Rose, the one time tech television star that downgraded his career to online multimedia. He does two podcasts, which there is nothing wrong with, but it’s the way that he presents himself and hounds users to subscribe.

There is nothing wrong with promotion. If you are just starting out promotion is a great way to get the word out, and maybe become the next big thing. But then there are people and organizations that over promote. Over promoting is when you are already popular and have a good following and then you keep plugging away and hounding users to watch or listen even more. A perfect example of this is Kevin Rose. Of his two podcasts, both are in the top 15 (This week in Tech, 4, Diggnation, 12). That’s great for him, but lets look at a post in his blog that was just a few days ago (while both were still in the top 15).

“Help out diggnation and subscribe today:
If you use iTunes:
- Subscribe to the audio feed
- Subscribe to the video feed
Odeo:
- Subscribe to the odeo audio feed
iPodderX or other podcasting clients:
- Raw RSS feed”

“Help out diggnation…”. Help Out! He’s the number 12 podcast on iTunes and that’s just not good enough. This is what I like to call greed. Greed to be better than everyone else, while not letting the little guy who’s just starting out get some promotion.

If Kevin Rose wants to help out podcasting and not be a selfish person, he should probably promote on of his favorite podcasts, if he even ventures out of his own. Maybe he should get out there and listen to some more, some that aren’t well know, that aren’t in the top 15, that are maybe in the 100’s. He may realize that there are some good podcasts that aren’t overly popular. Then promote them on his site. He’s got a good following he could get some people listening. Think of it as donating to the poor. You could just sit there in your mansion and suck up money while asking your maid to get you more hot tea. Or you could donate some money and feel good about yourself.

If you were to look in the archives of Kevin Rose’s Blog you’d realize that never once has he promoted someone else’s new feature or podcast, unless it was one of his “friends”. All I hope is that someday Kevin Rose will realize that he’s not the only human being on this planet; it wouldn’t hurt the help the little guy.

Some reading this article, may be wondering why I’m only focusing on Kevin Rose. The main reason is that he has a huge outlet of power, which he can thank TechTV for, and he uses it to only promote himself. While on the other hand, Leo Laporte and Chris Pirillo tend to steer away from their online careers and give a little insight on their lives, and isn’t that what blogging is for? While Leo and Chris may not promote the small guy, you won’t see them promoting themselves.

By just glancing at Leo and Chris’s blog you can see very seldom self promotion. Now compare them side by side with Kevin Rose’s blog. His is all self promotion, nothing looking into the life of Kevin Rose, nothing that helps the little guy, all self promotion so he can be number one at everything.

While I have the chance I’ll finish off my rant on Kevin Rose by pointing on one simple thing. On the podcast “Diggnation”, which I’m not subscribed to and dislike, they take the first three minutes to discuss beer. I hope they realize that the majority, or if not the majority a large chunk, of their audience is under the legal drinking age. I do not believe that a podcast like this is the time or place for discussing alcohol.

Discover Eco Friendly Cars

Posted by admin on June 11th, 2008 — Posted in Travel Resources

Being climate friendly is something that is going to shape us all in the next six years. We have Environmental Travel, Electric Driven Cars & Biological Fuels to look at now.

There are many different forms of Biological Fuels. Biological Fuels are many in essence plant based choices to oil- based fuels such as petroleum, diesel and heating oil. Burning biodiesel discharges CO2 emissions, nevertheless this is equalized by the fact that the plants used to produce it uses CO2 emissions from across the climate to grow. Still the green advantages of Biological Fuels are hotly argued, with some climate friendly consultants declaring that Biological Fuels cause more damage than good. There is two big breeds of Bio Diesel and Ethanol. Find out the facts on Biodiesel from BBC Green.

As the name suggests, biodiesel is intended for use in diesel tanks. Biodiesel is unusually like to veg oil and is manufactured from the similar types of plants- oil rich sources such as sun flower, palm, rapeseed & groundnut. Biodiesel can often also be manufactured from chicken fat or oils reused from restaurants. Biodiesel and fuels might be used neat in some diesel engines, even so, at this current time it is more typically to be found in a mix with regular diesel- typically twenty % biodiesel with normal diesel fuel. This blend might be consumed by any diesel automobile.

Ever thought about getting an eco car? There are two sorts the G WIZ & the Mega City. The aforementioned are many genuinely climate and green friendly machines; in fact they are many an environmental daydream. They don’t produce any carbon dioxide emissions in fact more to the point electric cars don’t even have an exhaust pipe. Because if you power an eco car from renewable energy, it fabricates 0 emissions. Even if this environmentally friendly car has tons of advantages it does have several cons as well. The evident one being it is a climate change friendly car and it might often only do 105 miles before you may have to charge the powerpack and this usually has to be done over night, if you are arranging on doing an extensive trip, this may have to be powered up over the course of some trips.

A Good Credit Report - The Key To Cheap Finance

Posted by admin on June 11th, 2008 — Posted in Living With Mathematics

Is your credit report important? There are a lot of people who would not consider their credit rating as something too important to them in their life. There are others who, while recognising its importance, would not be overly concerned about the issue or understand the reasons for its importance. Well, to those people, they should at least be aware of some of the uses that are made of credit reports in the world in which we live.

Lenders

While it may seem obvious to state it, credit reports are predominantly concerned with assessing the risk involved in lending money to you. Lenders are obsessed with one thing, getting repaid, and their entire industry revolves around making this occur. Therefore, they have developed the credit score that will assess your likely hood of repaying them and this is then used to either approve or reject your application for credit. While this is the basic purpose, some more sophisticated lenders desire to get in on an ever larger share of the market and in order to lend to higher risk borrowers, they create different categories of loans which people with lower scores can qualify for. These loans will invariably have higher interest rates and other less favourable conditions and this will be the price you pay for having a lower credit rating.

Since loans are used to finance homes, education, cars, and most other large purchases in life, the inability to get access to credit, or only to be able to get it at less attractive terms and rates, is a substantially reason to care about your credit report and try to keep it in as good a condition as possible.

Credit reports are also used when you apply for renting or leasing accommodation. This is usually because the landlord wants to be fairly certain that you’ll be able to pay your rent as it falls due. So keeping your credit score healthy at this stage will pay off if you need to be approved for renting or leasing residential property.

There is also a trend among employer to start using credit ratings when assessing job applicants. The reasons they are making use of credit reports are of course different for every employer but there is a consensus that a healthy credit report and a good past record of meeting financial commitments is a good sign that the job applicant is someone reliable and worth employing. While it does seem slightly perverse that the very people that will need a job the most are precisely the ones that can be denied it but that’s the direction things are moving in.

Net Wagering - The 101

Posted by admin on June 10th, 2008 — Posted in Gambling Wheel, Wagering

The exertion of frequenting a gaming hall can be enough reason to drop the idea if avoidable. Traffic congestion, the exertion, and task list this necessitates are too much to justify the distress merely for that possibility to gamble at gaming hall, though allowing for this, if you are the kind of person who lives and breathes bets then having a try at gambling casinos on the Internet will likely be the most obvious way to go.

Here, you won’t have to leave the house to experiment with online roulette or other games of choice simply because you will do everything within your domestic surroundings assuming you possess a PC and, obviously, a reliable Internet connection. Yet, go on reading for there are quite a few tips that you must mug up concerning online roulette or other games of choice, specifically if you’re a newcomer. So quell that anticipation and review what comes next. Here’s our short rough that explains how to select an honest and trust-worthy online roulette or other games of choice site.

The very first thing that I as a canny virtual wagerer would target is an online roulette or other games of choice webpage of the sort that is prepared to offer top winning odds. Make certain the online roulette or other games of choice webpage has partnered up with an honest and trust-worthy auditing company in order to evaluate the referenced wagers’ pay-out percentages regularly. This is very productive to ensure the beans you plan to be risking in your imminent amusement will actually justify the endeavor.

You must confirm the online card playing webpage has a bona fide license, e.g. by searching out the license information on the casino site’s About page. If you cannot detect any license information on that online card playing webpage, do not attempt any betting halls at that place.

Going further, another imperative piece of advice is to try your hand for beginners with trivial amounts in lieu of use up so much it can hurt off the cuff. To begin with, check the operability of this particular online card playing setup rather than going for some severe risk, specifically that of losing your money… Finally, do mind this particular info concerning virtual card-playing. It is this– always to remember that online casino betting is about fun and amusement and much less about money. Wagering in online casinos is not a livelihood, but a pastime that ought to help you become glad and living delectable. CLICK NOW for the excitement of live football online gambling here.

The Truth about Credit Repair

Posted by admin on June 8th, 2008 — Posted in Living With Mathematics

The truth about credit repair is that even immediately following a bankruptcy, you may qualify for a credit card with some companies, if you are employed and have a checking account. Some companies will approve your application even if you are unemployed. This is not to say that bankruptcy is the best credit repair option. It is not even a good credit repair option. It is just meant to offer a little encouragement to those who are frustrated and believe that there is nothing they can do.

Credit card companies that extend credit to people with low credit scores and those who have just declared bankruptcy charge higher interest rates and fees. If you qualify for one of these cards, but not the lower interest rate cards, it is important to pay the balance off each month. Typically the line of credit will be very low anyway, but it is still important to monitor your spending. The truth about credit repair is that establishing a good payment history will help. It does not exactly offset the bad credit, but if you are able to get a credit card and pay the balance off monthly, credit card companies will typically increase your line of credit. This will improve your credit score. There are many factors which determine a person’s credit score and one is the amount of available credit versus used credit. So, if you are approved for a higher credit limit, but you do not “charge up” to that higher limit, then your credit score will go up. The best credit repair programs consist of building good credit, while removing bad credit.

The truth about credit repair is that negative items do not have to stay on your credit report for a long period of time. They can be removed by the credit bureaus or by the creditors who reported the negative items in the first place. The best credit repair programs include disputes with the credit bureau and good will intervention with creditors. The worst credit repair advice is to wait the five to seven years for the information to “fall off” of your credit report. The truth about credit repair is that if you dispute an item on your credit report and the credit bureau cannot verify it, then they must remove it.

Even the best credit repair specialists will advise consumers that the whole process is time consuming and can be frustrating. This is the truth about credit repair, but it does not mean that you are “stuck” with bad credit for your entire life or even a number of years. People who have the time, patience and the knowledge can achieve results in a matter of weeks or months. If you do not have the time, patience or the know-how, you can hire a credit repair company. The best credit repair companies are associated with law firms. They do not recommend illegal action, such as providing false information on credit applications. They are honest and upfront about their fees. The best credit repair law firms can help you achieve results, do a lot of the work for you and take most of the frustration out of the process.

The truth about credit repair is that you must pay your bills. You must pay off any outstanding judgments or charge-offs. But, the truth about credit repair is that you can call a creditor who has reported a charge-off or judgment and negotiate the removal of the negative report. Once you have paid the creditor, they have no real desire to leave the negative information on your report. Even though the credit bureaus may say that a specific item will remain on your credit report for a specific amount of time; it is not necessarily the truth. The truth about credit repair is that consumers can accomplish a lot on their own and possibly more if they have the help and advice of one of the best credit repair companies. Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall

Posted by admin on June 8th, 2008 — Posted in Humor

My source at the Blair House told me a funny story the other day. It seems that Karl Rove stepped into the President’s bedroom and stood in front of the man-length mirror. He said, “Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, Who’s the greatest”

“It’s not working right!”

Rove tuned and said, “Mr. President! I was just combing my hair.”

“You seem to be good at that, Karl.”

Rove said, “Oh, there is no special skill required for comb”

I meant “Lying!”

“Okay, I was using your mirror. I wanted to make sure it gave the right answer: George W. Bush is the Greatest Man on the Planet Earth!”

The president said, “I told you it was broken. It keeps saying Dick Cheney is the Sneakiest Man on Earth. It never says who is the most powerful.”

Karl Rove promised the President that he would have the mirror repaired by the White House Mirror Maintenance Department.

After the mirror was repaired, the President said,

“Mirror, Mirror on the Wall,

Who is the greatest man of all?”

The mirror answered as follows:

“Mr. President, I’ve news for thou.

The Greatest of all is President HU Jintao.”

The president went to the Oval Office and sat in his chair. “Hu Jintao?” he said aloud as Karl Rove came in the room.

“Yes, but make sure you pronounce it right when you meet him.”

“Oh! Hi, Karl! Meet who?”

“Hu Jintao! Do you still want to go to Mongolia on your trip? It’s kind of out of the way.”

“Yes! The mirror says that Hu Jintao is the most powerful man on earth. I’ve got to meet him.”

Karl Rove shook his head and said, “George, I’m sending the CIA to update you on China this afternoon.” Rove left the office.

The President sat back in his chair and said, “I wonder why he’s doing that? I get bad publicity from dealing with those guys at the CIA.” He beeped his secretary and said, “Cancel my meeting with the CIA. I’ll be doing laps at that time.”

The End

Demand Unlimited Auto-Responders with Your Hosting Accounting

Posted by admin on June 8th, 2008 — Posted in House Of Websters

AutoResponders are nifty scripts that run in your web server 24/7 serving immediate email responses to questions, support and sales. Think about this, your customer comes to your website and spends a round 200$ to get your product. And after the payment they don’t get back any response for the next 10 hours, would they like it? No, and this is more damaging if they have requested some additional pre-sales information and don’t receive any notification in the next 1 hour. In this Internet world, your competitor is just a click away. Your customer goes back to the search results and clicks the next website that gives a similar product. Lost sales, and more money in your competitor’s hands! This is twice the loss as the competitor is going to spend a percentage of the money in advertising the product or building a better product. Auto responders help reduce this possibility by carefully scripting the follow up messages based on the incoming queries your pre-sales information can be safely and securely delivered without delays. This translates into better sales.

There are many types of AutoResponders and there are many free ones offered by many companies. These are more an email farms than a good tool. In this age where spam is considered “Jail Serious”, partnering with these email farms is really damaging. The capability of setting up AutoResponders for free using your control panel gives you complete control and in synchronization with the availability of your website. Unlimited autoresponders provide you with the capability to schedule many different emails for specific category of customers or prospects. Usually when people signup for more information you should be delivering them on time at expected proven intervals not at your convenience. The auto responders extend your capability to sell more as you can deliver targeted parts of your sales copy based on the interaction with the customer. You can schedule multiple follow ups convincing your customer about the benefits. Only around 2% of all prospects buy immediately the rest needs more convincing. This can easily be achieved by these bots with precooked text. There are many articles written about what works and what doesn’t especially what is annoying and what is more helpful to turn prospects into customers. If your web hosting provider doesn’t provide this capability demand for this feature or take your business elsewhere.

You can find a web hosting provider who offers right from the basic package till the gold Web Hosting with unlimited autoresponders in edshosting.biz.
