What sort of qualities and features would one be looking for in a top 10 online affiliate program? It is important and indeed a useful thing for every affiliate to be able to recognize those features that make a particular affiliate program special enough to be ranked amongst the top ten.
One of the most important aspects to look for in a top 10 online affiliate program is a high conversion rate. To me this is important because it will always impact rather dramatically on the results. For example an affiliate program that tends to have a high conversion rate will need less leads to produce a sale. This is the single aspect that decides whether a particular affiliate program is appropriate for your site or not. This is because of the simple fact that traffic can hardly be increased overnight. So even as you work on ways and means of improving traffic, you want an affiliate program that can yield something for you with the current traffic that you already have. The conversion rate is what will determine this important question.
That is precisely why testing is so important for any affiliate program you want to join and not just a top 10 type online affiliate program. Testing will always give you an exact and precise conversion rate which you can compare with that of other affiliate programs and in effect compile your very own top 10 best paying online affiliate program list. Your top 10 online affiliate program list can be in terms of revenue earned monthly and the conversion rate as well.

So today was the day where I almost stopped going to my favorite supermarket here in Milwaukee. If you’re in Milwaukee, you know the one I’m talking about: the cool one downtown that has 1000 different types of produce, and a whole aisle dedicated to gourmet coffee and teas. The one with the free samples, the wine tasting and cooking courses. Yeah, that one.
Anyway, today I went to the market to buy a few things for dinner. I knew it was going to go wrong because my usual entrance to the parking lot was gated off by shopping carts lying on the ground to block my path. OK, I’m flexible, I’ll drive around.
The second thing was when they were out of my favorite glass bottles of skim milk. It’s the best way to drink milk, in my humble opinion. They had every flavor except for mine.
Next, I tried to check out by “paying by touch.” Let me tell you, this can be the best system in the world, you just sign up with your driver’s license number, your credit card number, your preferred customer number, and your phone number, and away you go. Notice I said CAN be the best. Many times, my preferred card number doesn’t work in the system, and it doesn’t take the savings off of the bill, and tonight was one of those nights.
Now this would have been okay, had the checker just used the house card and given me the lower price so my debit card would be billed the correct amount, however she did not know how to do this. Instead, she said to go over to the service counter and someone over there would help me out.
Skeptical, I walked over to the service desk to see 3 clerks talking to each other and cutting out something that was much more urgent than me and the 4 other people in line. For some reason, after a few minutes, one girl asked to help me. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I told her my dilemma, and she proceeded to go through my bags, re-scanning things and writing down what she thought was the correct cents off. I’m no cheapskate, but five dollars is 2 gallons of gas! Of course, she was doing all of this in her head, and didn’t let me see the slip, and of course didn’t do it correct, ripping me off to the tune of about 20 cents, plus I had to re-pack my own groceries.
To add insult to injury, there was no ramp open to go down to the parking structure I was forced to use, so I had to grab my bags and carry them, with my wife, down 3 flights of 10 stairs.
This is maddening to me! It’s so easy to do things right. Here’s how I would provide customer service.
Plainly mark the entrances that are closed, and advertise it on your stores website, thus alleviating some of your customers’ frustrations, and provide the alternative entrances.
If you’re out of something, put a sign up that lets me know when it’s going to be back so I can return and buy it then, and apologize that you’re out. A little sign is all I ask, not a big production.
Make the error in favor of your customers, and scan the house savings card whenever in doubt. And give your checkers the ability to fix this, instead of sending us over to the service desk.
Offer something extra to customers when your computer systems don’t work as planned. It doesn’t have to be a lot, but give me a coupon for a free loaf of bread, a free deli sandwich, or something nice. It’s not my fault your preferred system doesn’t work.
Use loyalty cards for EXTRA things, not to get the every day lowest price. Why am I going to scan my preferred customer card if I know I don’t have anything that’s on sale? I’m not, that’s why.
That’s all I’ve got. See, it wasn’t so hard, was it? Making customer service great is a lot easier than you though. And oh yeah, you won’t lose me as a customer if you at least try. Thanks!

Starting an online business is, for some, a difficult decision to make. Choosing which home based business to become affiliated with is an even harder decision. It is important to find an online business that will generate a profit in the shortest time possible.
In starting an online business, it is important to consider what type of business will be suited to your type of personality. For example, if you are an outgoing and sociable person, you might be better suited for an online business involving sales. On the other hand, if you are introverted and shy, your personality might be better suited towards data entry.
In starting an online business at home, it is good to look at your past experiences and jobs. If you were previously employed with a marketing firm, then maybe you should
consider letting them know you have started your own online marketing and public relations business. They might hire you to do freelance work for them. Another example is if you were a secretary or still work as a secretary, you can start an online virtual secretarial or related enterprise. Regardless of the type of online business you start with,
it must be something that you enjoy doing.
After you have decided on what online business that would be good for your personality and previous work experience, it is necessary to consider the time commitment involved
in making your dream into a reality. In order to make this into a reality, you should consider writing a business plan for yourself.
The business plan should include the online business’s name along with your company’s finances such as the amount of money you would like to make in order to achieve a profit. Also, it is a good idea to write down the projected costs that your online business might incur. These would include buying office equipment and marketing ads.
If you are considering registering to sell another company’s products online, it is important to investigate the company before signing up. If the company promises large sums of wealth that can be made in a short period of time, it is advised that you stay away from them. Make a point to search forums and newsgroups online to see if anyone has reported the company as a scam.
If you plan carefully and give much thought to your decisions, you should be able to find many similar onine businesses with proven success. There is no need to re-invent the wheel. Take advantage of the experience of successful marketing experts by purchasing e-books, subscribing to e-zines and e-courses offered by the many people making modest and even hugh incomes from their home-based online businesses.

It’s probably one of the hottest topics out there, and with good reason. Where else can you get paid over and over again for doing something once?
Of course I’m talking about Googles Adsense program, for website publishers who don’t mind placing a small bit of code into their sites to show ads in return for a share of the profits.
It’s relatively easy to get started with Google Adsense, as all you need to have is a website or blog on which to show the Adsense ads, and a Google Adsense Publishers Account. To get an Adsense account you need to go to www.Google.com/adsense and apply for an account, as long as your website complies with their terms, you will be accepted and be able to log in to create your Adsense ads. If you don’t have a website, you can setup a blog for fr.ee at http://www.blogger.com put up some content, and submit this. Blogger is also owned by Google, and some people claim this gives you a better chance of acceptance, whether it does or not you decide for yourself.
For the next part, once you are logged in you need to choose what type of ads to display, link units are just one line links to sites related to your sites keywords, ad units are the blocks of code you see everywhere with a short description, a link and a url for each site advertised. Once you have chosen which ad type to display, you can then choose the size and format of the Adsense box. This is where you must make a decision to ensure it fits in with your site, where you are going to place it.
Be aware that irregular sized and shaped adsense boxes work better than the regular ad sizes, 468×60 is immediately picked up as an ad due to banners being this size for so long online and has a low clickrate, while the 336×280 and 300×250 adsense blocks work much better. There is also some arguments as to whether you should blend the ad into your site by using the color palette Adsense gives you to edit the ads colours to make the colours the same as your site, or to make them stand out by making them a different colour, this will depend on your site, and you can test to see what works best.
After you have setup the format, colour scheme and type of ad, you will get the code to add to your site. Before you go ahead and paste it in, it’s a good idea to setup channel tracking. Setup different channels named so that you will know what it is about, and this will enable you to track which ads are working, on which sites by changing them around, and tagging them with different channel ID’s. This is one of the most overlooked parts of Adsense, the ability to track your ads through channels affords you the ability to test and tune to get the ideal colours, and placement for your adsense blocks.
Adsense does a good job of finding ads related to your site, and you have no input into what will be shown. Sometimes it gets confused, so you may have to tweak your sites copy to make the keywords more prominent so Adsense can do a better job of targeting your visitors with the ads displayed. Obviously the better the ads target your visitors, the more relevant they will be and the better the clickthrough rate.
As we already said, Adsense is a great way to make some income, and some people are even making a good living from it, it’s residual income, fairly easy to setup and low maintenance. If nothing else it will help pay the hosting fees for your website, so why not get started with Google Adsense today?

Search engine rankings are an important factor to consider when
you have a website that needs more traffic. If your website
doesn’t have a good position in the rankings then no-one will
find it, so you need to make sure that your website is ranked
highly enough to be seen. The other important quality to getting
high traffic to your site is having a nice arsenal of links. The
more links that you have to your site the more traffic you will
get, but also, the more links to your site the more search
engines like your site. Keeping a nice supply of links pointing
at your site requires similar precautions and practices as
getting high search engine listings. Although few SEO company
can guarantee a high ranking for your site, here are some tips
for raising your search engine ranking. Using these tips will
not get you to the top unless your site is the best out there,
but they will at least put you into the positioning that you
truly deserve. After all, the internet is basically a free
market. You will naturally flow into the place that you deserve
and many search engines try to insure that you do not rise above
or fall below this position. This is why they are so strict, and
this is why you must keep yourself on good terms with them.
1) Content is an important factor in high search engine
rankings. Make sure that you have plenty of content throughout
your site with your target keywords in the articles. It’s also
worth doing a search for websites similar to yours and taking a
look at their articles for ideas. The more content you have the
better. It is generally a good idea to have between three
hundred and five hundred words per page, but more important than
a quantity of content is the quality of the content that you are
providing. You cannot just put out three hundred words of jargon
and expect your visitors to find it interesting and stick around
for the long haul.
2) Your website’s URL can help you rank higher with the search
engines if it contains your keywords. However, don’t think that
naming your site after your keywords will always help your
rankings - you need to do more than just that.
3) Search terms should be written out in text, instead of
graphics. If you do use pictures, be sure to give them alt tags.
The alt tags in your pictures are almost as important as text.
It’s also a good idea to put some of your key words in links to
other pages. In the eyes of a search engine it is almost as good
to have a link to a page full of the content that the visitor is
looking for as it is to have the content that the visitor is
looking for on your page. If a visitor is looking for something
that you are linking to and he or she finds your page, they may
look around your site on the way through.
4) The title of your page is very important, and making sure
that you choose it wisely will make a big difference. Terms such
‘free article on safe children’s toys’, or ‘contact the
children’s toy expert today’ are good to use as titles, for
example - they would get you a high ranking. The title area is
the most important place to include your keyword phrases, so
make sure that you put them all in.
5) The navigation menu that appears on each page of your website
should include your page’s title.
6) Don’t just use the most popular keyword phrases - the market
is so competitive that you should be sure to include some niche
keywords too.
7) Make sure that you don’t have a lot of irrelevant links on
your site. The more closely related to your site your links are,
the better your chances of being ranked in a higher position.
You need to periodically update the content of your website,
even if it’s only a slight change, as websites like sites that
are kept updated.
9) You need to consider the fact most search engines don’t like
automatic submissions or multiple submissions - submit once,
manually.
10) Always be on the look out for SEO news - staying up to date
and using the latest techniques will help you stay one step
ahead of your competition. Websiterankingtop.com

Would you like to jumpstart your online or offline business without spending a ton of money?
Without a doubt, joint venture marketing is the most powerful secret to making money online or offline.
In its simplest form, you partner with someone else: You either sell their product to your customer base or they sell your product to theirs.
The true power of this lies in the fact that it’s much easier to sell a product to an existing customer, rather than going out and trying to get another customer.
Here’s the twist:
What if you could use joint venture marketing without having a product, very little money, and little or no customer list?
Let’s see what one of the foremost authorities on joint ventures has to say about this unique use of the joint venture idea …
Marc Goldman is a world-class authority on joint venture marketing, building a website that ranks in the top 6,000 most-visited websites. That’s quite an accomplishment considering the millions of websites in existence.
What’s more important though is that he’s been using joint venture marketing since his first day in business in 1994.
In a recent interview, he offered this simple formula to quickly profit from joint ventures.
(Note: To access Marc Goldman’s complete audio interview for fre^e, see end of article)
You simply perform the role of a Joint Venture broker–you bring together partners who can add value to what the other party offers.
For a great online example of this technique, suppose you find a great product on the Internet that you love …
You could hook up the owner with other Internet marketers who have an existing customer base, and get a commission from the sales.
If the product has a two-tier affiliate program, you simply sign up as an affiliate. You automatically get commissions from the sales of the marketers you convinced to promote the product (who sign up under you).
If you’re hooking the product owner up with marketers who have a huge customer base, try to negotiate a higher commission than the normal second level commission.
If the product owner currently does not have an affiliate program, simply approach the owner–make a proposal to get a specific commission on any sales from the partners you bring to him.
Having purchased Marc’s Joint Venture Brokering Mastery Seminar, I can testify to the effectiveness of his techniques.
The broker idea works equally well offline …
Just one case in point:
I joined up an owner of three dilapidated rental houses who just wanted to get rid of them with someone who wanted to buy some land to build a gun shop. Each party got what they wanted and, at closing, I received a check for $8,835.92 … definitely a nice commission for only several hours’ work and no money down.
With that in mind, go out today, have your best day ever, and keep your eyes out for people who you can help by bringing them together with someone else who can help them.
Of course, make sure you remember to get your slice of the profits …
