What is “Bowling Etiquette”?
“Bowling Etiquette” is how you handle yourself on the lanes. In a nutshell, it is the proper (unwritten law) way to bowl. I have put together a list of things you should do and things you shouldn’t during your league play (or even during your open play), and more importantly why…
DO…
Give the bowlers on the lanes next to you (i.e. if you are on lane 4, the bowlers on lane 5 and lane 6) the right of way. What does this mean? Before getting on the approach to begin your bowling shot, you must pay attention to the lanes next to you. If someone is already on the approach on the lane on either side of you, you should wait. It is especially irritating to the seasoned bowler, if he/she is on the approach beginning their shot and you run up and throw your ball.
DON’T…
Talk to bowlers while they are in the process of making a shot. Some bowlers will even say that you shouldn’t talk to them between the 1st and 2nd balls in a frame. It is important that a bowler has every opportunity to concentrate on what he/she is doing when they are bowling. Once the frame is complete, talk away…
DO…
Be polite. Don’t antagonize the other bowlers on your pair of lanes. Everybody deserves to have a good time bowling and there is no place for pestering and insulting other bowlers in bowling. If someone does well, slap their hand (this is a regular practice amongst regular bowlers), if they don’t (i.e. they throw a split), offer condolences by tapping their fist with yours.
DON’T…
Use another bowler’s equipment without asking. This kind of goes without saying, but other’s equipment can be very important to them. This rule applies to everything from balls and bags to towels and hand cleaner. Nowadays a lot of the equipment that bowlers use to bowl is pretty expensive as well. A lot of bowling balls go for more than $250.
DO…
Keep your hands out of the ball return and stay behind the foul line (the line where the gutters start). It is dangerous to put your hand in the ball return, there are moving parts in there. The lane has been oiled (at some point) beyond the foul line. If you go across the line, the oil will get on your shoes and you will track it back on the approach, not to mention that you may slip and fall.
DON’T…
Take the bowling alley’s equipment (shoes and balls). They need this equipment for the next bowler coming in behind you. If you take their equipment, they have to replace it. If enough people do this, the price goes up and this causes everybody pain.
DO…
Enjoy your bowling. Don’t let anybody take away from you having fun! The game is supposed to be fun and if you get to worried about what is going on, it can make you bowl worse (see my article on Attitude).
DON’T…
Forget to pay for your bowling. This is a cardinal sin. The bowling alley relies on your paying for your bowling. A lot of bowling alleys have gone to having you give them one shoe when you get your shoes so that you won’t leave without paying.
If you follow these general rules of bowling etiquette, the people that you are bowling with and the establishment that you are bowling at will enjoy having you around. Please be courteous when you bowl and follow all of the rules of etiquette to your best ability.
Keep bowling and having fun!

Fantasy football is easy. Very easy. Simply start players that outperform your opponents’. But, how can you be so sure who will perform?
Research.
Research.
Research.
Don’t like research, eh? That’s why the internet is so darn great! Websites will do the work for you, and all you have to do is check them weekly. The key topics you should check:
Cheat sheets: Have one of these handy when drafting, so you know the top players at each position. Make sure it is up-to-date so you don’t draft a player who is injured for the season.
Strategic articles: Doing a little reading might be the key to your next victory. If you learn about a sleeper, picking him up in your league can be the move of the year.
Weekly picks: Know what teams have tough matchups, and who you should start or sit based on those matchups. Don’t get stuck starting players who are in for a bad week.
Forum: Conversing with other fantasy football enthusiasts can give you some hints and tips that other members of your league aren’t hearing. Use everything you read to your advantage.
It’s that simple. Knowing a little bit more than your opponent is usually all you need. As they say, “Keep it simple, stupid.”
Mark G. runs Fantasy Football Spiral ( http://www.ffspiral.com ). A simple click will lead you to a valuable treasure chest of information, which will help you win your fantasy league. Participate in the forums, check out the mock drafts, read some articles - every little bit helps, and Fantasy Football Spiral wants to help you win your league in 2005.

Brief History:
Wing Chun (also known as Wing Tsun, Ving Chun or Ving Tsun) is
one of the most popular types of Chinese martial arts. Though
it’s basically an unarmed combat technique, Wing Chun may
include weapons as part of its course. The origin of Wing Chun
can be traced back to China, but the real history of its
creation has long been a topic of much debate. The most credible
suggestion regarding the origin of Wing Chun dates back to 1700
AD in the Henan Shaolin Monastery.
When the Qing forces raided and ravaged the Southern Shaolin
temple, a nun named Ng Mui fled to the distant Daliang
Mountains, the only survivor. Ng Mui already had knowledge of
Kung Fu in the Shaolin temple, which she assimilated with a new
form she had learnt while observing a battle between a snake and
a crane. She taught this new combat style to her adopted
daughter whom she named Yimm Wing Chun. The new system was
refined and then passed on from generation to generation, and
was eventually named Wing Chun, after Yimm.
The modernization of Wing Chun started in Hong Kong during the
1950s under a Grandmaster called Yip Man. The discipline began
to gain real popularity in Asia and the West when actor Bruce
Lee became one of the most famous Wing Chun practitioners.
The Concept of Wing Chun:
Wing Chun is based on three basic principles - Practicality,
Efficiency and Economy of Movement.
1. Practicality: Techniques such as Palm-up Hand (tan sau), Wing
Arm (bong sau), Slapping Hand (pak sau) are designed to maim the
most sensitive or vulnerable parts of the opponent’s body such
as throat, groin, eyes and lower torso. Many movements and
techniques in Wing Chun are often meant to be fatal.
2. Efficiency: Wing Chun does not use force against force, in
order to gain the most efficient manipulation of the body’s
energy. It believes in accurately timed and appropriately
positioned little movements, and counter-attack is based on the
opponent’s own force. This concept is also called Contact
Reflexes.
3. Economy of Movement: This is a linear concept in which
movements are based on an imaginary pole running vertically
through the center of the body. The Center Line spreads out from
this Mother Line, and since most of the vital points of the body
are located along the Center Line, many offensive and defensive
movements are based on this line. The Central Line, on the other
hand, is the shortest path between the fighters where most of
the combat exchanges take place.
Wing Chun Forms:
There are three basic forms in Wing Chun:
1. Empty Hand Form: This form has three more sub-forms - Siu Nim
Tao - the foundation of the art, Chum Kiu - focus on advanced
footwork and entry techniques, and Biu Jee - extreme short-range
or long-range techniques, low kicks and sweeps, and emergency
techniques.
2. Weapon Forms: The Dragon Pole and Butterfly Swords are the
two forms of weapons incorporated in Wing Chun, categorized
under advanced training.
3. Wooden Dummy or the Muk Yan Jong Form: A dummy made from
several wooden posts represents a human opponent. The
contraption is used to perfect angle, position, and footwork.

Being the Family guy requires a lot of tact and finesse. A lot!
This next trick isn’t an easy one, but boy if you can pull it off; you get the Family Guy award for sports recruiting. The most important tool to use is your kid’s natural instincts to be competitive with each other. Get them to pick the team they like, even if it’s just the color of the helmets, and then get them to pick their favorite player. Now we’ve given them their own team to root for.
Keep plenty of sports caps and jerseys around the house, so when your favorite team is playing, you can all be sporting your teams awesome gear.
In fact, right now my plan is going into action. My daughters are picking out their favorite Miami Hurricane caps, as well as adorning themselves with their favorite U.M shirts. I’m in good shape, and there’s only 20 minutes to kickoff. I remind the kids one more time about the importance of this game, and they seem fired up. I’m doing it! My plan is in action.
When your team scores, start high-fiving the kids. Get them screaming right along with you. Explain to them what just happened, using the instant replays as a visualization tool. Make sure they watch the replays a couple of times, so they can grasp the magnitude of what just took place. This is football!
Grant it, they won’t sit through the whole game with you, but they’ll leave you alone; for fear of you trying to lure them back to the sofa, and then again be forced to participate in your frenzy. Whatever you do, don’t let them take off their caps or jerseys during the course of the game. They should understand that they are the teams good luck charms, and we need them to help us to victory. Should for some reason your team lose, they should understand that it was you who didn’t have your lucky shirt on, even if your sure that they were the ones responsible for the loss.
So there you have it. A smart family guy knows he must have his children on his side. That’s how you build a winning team. Your kids now love football, whether they like it or not. Best of luck this season, The Family Guy.

Getting the right cheerleading uniforms may just be one of the most important things that you do for your team. In fact the cheerleading uniforms are just as important as the teams uniforms because the cheerleaders are representing the school as well. It does not matter if the cheerleading uniforms are for a high school team or for a college team, they need to look good and they need to match.
There is nothing worse than cheerleading uniforms that don’t match. Each and every member of the cheerleading squad has to have the same uniform on. There is only one small difference permitted and that is when there are both girls and boys on the team. In that case the colors and the style should be the same except for the fact that the girls will have a skirt and the boys will have on pants. That is the only difference that there should ever be when it comes to any cheerleading uniforms. If you take a look at the professional cheerleading uniforms and the cheerleading uniforms of other schools that is all the difference you will see.
There is a good reason for that as well. A cheerleading squad needs to be seen as a whole. Each individual should be considered just another piece of the over all puzzle, a limb if you will. If they did not dress the same and match then they would lose that uniform look and that would hurt the overall presence that they have. Their routines would not flow the same either. You see, cheerleading uniforms are there for a reason and that is to add to the routines and the entire feel of the show.
Cheerleading uniforms can be in any color, they are generally in the color of the school that they represent. IF they do not represent a school and they represent a pro team then the colors of the cheerleading uniforms are those colors. The colors are not as important as the styles. The cheerleading uniforms should be sexy and cute but never to over the top, they need to look good. Some of the cheerleading uniforms will have sequins on them while others will not, that all depends on the place the cheerleaders are from. There are all kinds of different cheerleading uniforms and they all have their own unique styles.
Most teams have their cheerleading uniforms specially made in order to stand out from the rest of the teams. They do not want to look like all the rest, they need to be unique and attractive in their own right. Some get their cheerleading uniforms online and then have them altered at a local tailor, it does not matter which way you choose to get your cheerleading uniforms as long as you have them in time for the game or match!
Information about uniforms including school uniforms, medical uniforms, sports uniforms and restaurant uniforms.

When bowling in cricket there are many possible cricket tips or
hints that can help improve your bowling.
In bowling, a combination of natural ability, good technique and
practice is the recipe for good bowling, whether it is fast,
slow or spin.
Here are some tips that will help your bowling and when
implemented correctly your bowling speed:
The basic grip to hold the ball is to keep the seam vertical and
to hold the ball with your index finger and middle finger either
side of the seam with the side of your thumb resting on the seam
underneath the ball.
In your approach/run in, try to stay:
- Smooth,
- Balanced,
- Economical,
- Rhythmical,
- Consistent and stay relaxed and try not to tense up.
During your approach and action, your head position is very
important. Make sure that as you approach the wicket you are
running at a steady, consistent speed, and increase strides. Aim
to keep your head as steady and level as possible, looking
towards your target.
Pull your front arm down and through the target area, making
sure you complete the delivery with a full follow through.
Try to keep everything in the same direction, towards your
target, keep your hips and shoulders parallel/in-line, and
follow through the delivery in the direction where you intend
the ball to go.
Also as a bowler it is very important to stay in great shape, as
you’ll enjoy the game more and perform better in the latter
stages if you have good stamina. So incorporating some light
weight sessions in to your training is important.
Also aim to try and run 3 times a week to keep your
cardiovascular system in top condition and to improve your
stamina. South African fast bowler Makhaya Ntini, is well know
for running 10Km every morning, even on match days!
But make sure you consult your coach/doctor/gym instructor
before starting any sessions.

The Cleveland Browns, on former boss Butch Davis’ watch, traded a second round draft pick last season, just so they could move up one spot in the first round of the National Football League draft in order to select Miami tight end Kellen Winslow, Jr. Davis and the entire organization took some heat for the move, which didn’t improve its standing when Winslow went down with a season-ending injury in week two, with a whopping five catches, 50 yards and no touchdowns.
You might think this makes Winslow very difficult to evaluate, when weeding through fantasy football information for your fantasy football draft in 2005. How does one measure the potential of a player who played in only two games and hauled in a minuscule five passes? Although it’s not an exact science, the answer is fairly simple. Treat Winslow sort of like a promising rookie, but keep in mind that he had a full season of rehab for his injury, as well as a full year of adapting to the National Football League. Also, in terms of Winslow, it’s important to note the arrival of a new coaching staff, one that will surely find ways to involve the talented tight end.
Finally, what few observers and fantasy football experts will notice is Winslow’s amazing athletic ability and raw talent. This guy may be the LeBron James of the gridiron. At 6-4 and 250 pounds, Winslow runs like most tailbacks, jumps like a world class hurdler, and is as strong as most linebackers. In just one short preseason and two regular season football games, Clevelanders saw frightening ability from Winslow, as he
dodged, sidestepped and often ran over would-be tacklers. Plus, he has a certain confidence that most young players lack, likely due to his great genes. He is, after all, the son of a hall of fame tight end.
Is Winslow an unknown and a risk? Yes. Is he worth a middle-round pick in your fantasy football draft? Probably, depending on how strong you are overall. If you have a good draft, heading into the fifth or sixth round, don’t hesitate. Winslow could have an Antonio Gates-type season. He’s this good, and you might just wind up with your fantasy football draft’s Super Sleeper.
